plenty of cold air up there in canada as it's making it way down the central plains. some of that air will be effecting us over the next seven days but not thunderstorm. look at these tonight. we have fallen to 65 at the moment with dew points in the low 60s across the area. that produces a mild overnight period. winds have been off of lake michigan all day today and the water temperature is 68. so that's had a cooling effect around the lake front. those areas adjacent in the 60s. there's that cold air. watch it slowly through the animation. you can see it's moving across and settling over the chicago area that following tomorrow's very warm high temperature. then retreating allowing a bit of a warm up but more cool air is coming in over the weekend and the weekend beyond. the weekends both look chilly. the next one after this next one looks very chilly. this is a map of present watches and warnings and so forth. this green area up to our north, those are actually flood watch areas. this is the reason. area of showers and thunderstorms that's tracking through southern
